Simsty is for players aged 13 and older. Cases deal with mature themes such as infidelity, crime and fraud. Every case is fiction.

Each case gives you a stranger's phone. Read their messages, mail, photos, notes, calendar and other apps, then solve the leads in the case file. A lead is one question about the case. Some leads want a typed answer; others ask you to find the matching message, photo or record on the phone and submit it.

Answers are checked by meaning, so short answers work best: a name, a place, a time or an amount. If you see "Please rephrase your answer. We couldn’t confirm it", say it in other words. That attempt does not cost a life. If a clearly correct answer keeps failing, email us the case name, the lead and your wording so we can fix the answer key.

Answer checking needs an internet connection. Check your connection and try again; your progress on the phone is saved.

Each case run has 5 lives. A wrong answer costs one. If the app asks you to write your answer another way, or the connection fails, you lose nothing. When you run out, solved leads are kept and you can watch an ad for 3 lives, use a life item, or wait 30 minutes for 3 free lives.

Open a lead and use its hint button. Revealing a hint uses one hint item; seeing it again is free. You start with 3 hints and 2 life items and get one more hint on each day you start a case.

You can start one new case for free each day. The day changes at midnight UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), at the same moment everywhere: for example at 7 pm in New York (8 pm in summer), midnight in London (1 am in summer) and 3 am in Istanbul. Cases you have started stay open. To open another case the same day, watch 3 short ads for it or buy a case pack that includes it.

Cases download from our online catalogue. Connect to the internet and reopen the app. A case’s images download when you first open it: tap Download case. The cases are written in English for now, so if the list is empty in another language, switch to English in Profile → Language.

Yes, Simsty is free to play. You can start one new case free every day, and open any other case by watching 3 short ads for it. Two kinds of purchase are optional: the Launch Pack, which unlocks its cases for good without ads, and life packs, which add lives when you run out. Prices are shown in the app, in your currency, before you buy.

A one-time purchase that unlocks a set of cases for good, without ads. The price is shown on a locked case's briefing before you buy.

A purchase that adds life items, shown on the screen you see when you run out of lives. Life items are used up as you play and do not come back with Restore purchases.

Open Profile and tap Restore purchases while connected to the internet. Use the same App Store or Google Play account you bought with.

Progress, stars, items and unlocks come back from your iCloud or Google backup if backup is on. Bought case packs come back with Restore purchases. Life packs are used up when you play, so they cannot be restored.

Payments go through Apple or Google, so refunds do too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or from your Google Play order history.

No. Ads are optional rewarded videos: watch one for 3 lives, or 3 to unlock a case. You can also wait for free lives, use items, or play the day's free case.

The reward is given only when the ad finishes. If no ad is available, try again later.

In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your ad choices when you first open the app; change them in Profile → Privacy choices. On iPhone, you can stop tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, delete or reset your advertising ID in your phone's settings under Privacy → Ads or Google → Ads.

1. Open Profile and tap Delete my data, then Delete.
2. This deletes your game account and its data on our game service, and your progress, name, items and unlocks on this phone. Downloaded cases stay, and bought case packs come back with Restore purchases. Bought life items that you did not use do not come back.
3. The button does not delete data held by our purchase, measurement and crash-report providers (RevenueCat, Airbridge and Firebase). To delete it, use Profile → Help & contact and ask us in the email: the app puts your device ID in it, which is how we find your data there. The app does not show the device ID anywhere else, and it stays the same after Delete my data. If you bought something, add the order number from your App Store or Google Play receipt. We delete it within 30 days.

No. Every phone, person and message in Simsty is fictional. The app cannot access any real device or account.

Email us the case name and what looks wrong: a typo, a contradiction, a broken image or an answer that should count. We revise cases when players find problems.
